Any one got any advice on bike carriers for my Grand Cherokee ?
I dont want roof mounted as too high. Dont fancy the idea of lots off straps for the rear door mounted ones, so looking at the Thule 2 bike tow hook mounted one.
Its not cheap but is it good ?

Cheers

Pendle all the way. Simple, strong as hell, and reasonably priced. You can also get a tilting bracket that allows the rack to fold down so you can get into the rear without having to remove the rack.

I'm using a Maxxrack at the moment to carry three bikes(one is a childs) on our trip round Australia. Its survived hundreds of kms on corrugated roads with absolutely no problems. It can carry up to five bikes. We're about to travel along the 2700kms of dirt road which make up the Outback Way across the centre of Oz and I have no worries about it at all!

I can't remember how much I paid for it unfortunately.

I like the aiston racks as they are good value and adaptable if a bit industrial.

I have one which comes with a plate which goes on the back of the tow ball. Means I can carry bikes and use the baw bar at the same time. Mind you suspect if I do I breach the nose weight limit!

have a Thule 4 bike hanger type, great, but takes up a fair bit of boot space (have a grand also) so either go with an empty boot or invest in a chain.

I bought a Thule two bike carrier from Amason, I'm sure I only paid around £100 for it.
Best £100 I have spent!!

Bit of a long shot but does anyone run one of these by Mottez on a Jeep Grand Cherokee 1998 - 2004?

Just wondered if they were any good?
