evening, where are you in the county? rochford has a big offroad club. essex lro have a big following and if i ever get my finger out i will contact them and join smile

most of the clubs / groups iknow are land rover biased, but i am sure if you buy them a cup of tea they won't rib you too much for buying a jeep smile

i am over southend way, there is quite a lot of modded landies knocking about this way and i need to introduce myself to some of them.

let me know?

Im from Chelmsford so not far from you. I have a FB group with a few friends with a mix of 4x4s. If you want to get out with a group I am going Bures pit on sunday the 12th.

The Ribbing from the landrover group is the norm. My friends with Discos refuse to be recover by a Jeep LOL.

here is the FB group - http://www.facebook.com/?ref=tn_tnmn#!/groups/1809...

cool, i will check it out later cheers (facebook is blocked at work, even for me and i do the blocking smile ).

someone told me recently that bures had closed, i am glad to hear its still open. have you done the place just down the road from Chelmsford? when i went it was very dry so some parts were not drivable because of the huge ruts, but pics from it when wet show its twice the size we saw, and we had a great time there.

lots off the lro forum that day.

Hi,

Ive got an old Freelander which I would like to have a go at some off roading in, Now I know its not as capable as its bigger brothers but would like to have a go at some gentle stuff. Is there anything suitable around Chelmsford?

essex off road is good for all. there are also some byways just north of chelmsford that the Freelander should be OK at. best to go laning with a second car incase one gets stuck, or fit a winch
