How cheap is cheap? Mine was about £1,600 from eBay. Quadzilla 320 CVT as I like simple twist and go

Thx, been look at the Honda big reds seem to go for 600 - 1200, thought they would also be easier to get spares for...

Guess you're after the 4x4 workhorse style as opposed to the rwd.

Big reds must be getting on a bit now but if parts are readily available, shouldn't be an issue

Ok, not technically correct, however lots are converted to twist throttles

Some of the racing quads that spend their time on an MX track have been converted. However a twist throttle on a utility quad is an accident waiting to happen. A big quad off road needs a lot of steering input and weight transference to keep it going in the right direction. The last thing you want when hanging onto the handlebars in a tricky situation is to accidently roll the throttle open. A thumb throttle allows more control whilst still being able to hang on to the bars.

Exactly why mine remains as a thumb throttle

We have had a kawasaki KLF400 for years on the farm, its always been 100% reliable so no idea on parts availability. It it permanent 4x4 though whilst some are 2wd/4wd, there are normally lots for sale on autotrader/farmers trader. Getting a trailer that the quad will fit inside is a big bonus.

For a farm quad, stick to proper makes

Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki.

We have always had Honda due to them even chain driven. We have a big red and it’s ultra reliable.
