Jeep servicing - Surrey/Hants/Berks
Discussion
Cross post from the Thames Valley area forum but I am looking for a Jeep specialist in the Surrey/North Hants/Berks area.
Hi guys and gals. We just px'd our E46 in for a 52 plate Jeep Grand Cherokee but now need somewhere local to service it. Does anyone have any recommendations?
For the BMW and previous Range Rover I found good local Indy specialists but need to start again with the Jeep.
It's a 52 plate with 90k miles. Decent papers and history. Tidy interior, everything seems to be working
Is it worth renewing any gearbox or diff fluids as a precaution. I don't know what the servicing schedule is for those items but they are often overlooked.
How do these cope on the road on AT tyres eg General Grabber? I had these on my previous P38.
Anything else in particular worth servicing or renewing at this mileage/age?
Thanks in advance for any comments from Jeep owners

General Grabber AT²s on my Jeep and it handles very well on the road and is good on Snow and Ice too!
Can't help with the servicing although you may as well change the diff oils etc, I just changed my gearbox and transfer box oil too ready for winter as I've no idea when they should have been done.

Near Windsor there is a place called Twyford 4x4 who are indie dealers and service.
However, Ive just bought a Grand Cherokee 2004 2.7crd and although it had a stamped service book, one main dealer and the rest non franchised, I got my spanner man to change the diff and transfer case oils as a precaution.
He's just a general mechanic who works on all types of cars, he has access to the internet and just looks up what he dosnt know ! Failing that he went to Jeep Knowl Hill dealers to get some info and the correct transfer case oil.
Simples !

Depends on engine but 90K miles is quite a big service on a WJ, from memory, it is oil for diffs. Gearbox oil & filter, plugs then normal service. Worth coming over to Jeepclub.co.uk & asking for a local dealer there. Hi guys and gals. We just px'd our E46 in for a 52 plate Jeep Grand Cherokee but now need somewhere local to service it.
