Hi, I've been to look at a Suzuki Vitara GV1600 this afternoon. It's pretty clean and drives well, although the Clutch is a little juddery so might need replacing soon?? It's a 2001 'Y', no service history, but looks honest enough. It's a soft top which is the only thing putting me off slightly.

Does anyone know if these are any good? I know generally speaking Suzuki have very good reliability, historically. I remember their little SJ's were good, and was always thinking that the Vitara kind of followed on from that.

Dave from Bits 4 Vits played around with a 1600GV a few years ago, google his website and send him an email.

Well, it all depends what you use it for. Pretty good offroad, comfortable enough, not exactly luxurious though. Engines aren't powerful, and not the fastest things one the road! Mine has been reliable enough, despite a battering.

If you can stretch to a 5dr 2.0 then its a whole different vehicle, goes well handles well for what it is. Very direct steering and great fun on wet roundabouts. Good offroad.
