Folks,

My mate has bought an M reg Shogun and literally after driving less than 10 miles, the thing cut out with smoke/steam streaming out the exhaust and from the engine bay. When i got to him, the water pipe from the raditor to the block had come off and i noticed a new raditor had recently been fitted.

I fitted the pipe back on, but fearing the worst, started her up and smoke/steam, still pi55ing out the back as expected!

So, cylinder head gasket gone?!? looks like someone has cooked the engine, fitted a new radiator and flogged it.

I believe that the cylinder head is more than likely cracked and therefore it would be an expensive repair. Can someone shed any light? Whats the best to do? sell it as spares or repair? there 7 almost new tyres on the thing.

If he's wanting rid of it and has the time/space, he will make far more splitting it for parts and scrapping anything that's left.

If he's wanting to keep it, changing the whole head over might be an option or an engine change if he can find one cheap enough.
