Before getting it rebuilt, try changing the oil. Mine is a WJ with a 30 front & a 44 rear but the front should be 75/140W Synthetic oil & the rear can either be that or 75/90 again synthetic. You may find this quietens it down a lot.

Been doing that for a while, but thanks for the reply anyways smile

its on 155k miles now and looking back through the service records the diff rumble was first noted at about 70k miles, so its done pretty well.

Ive noticed it getting slightly louder lately, so ill do another oil change and see how it goes. The problem with the D30 is that anything you find in a breakers yard is also likely to be FUBAR too frown

Im based in NL, so the location in the UK doesnt matter so much - thanks for the heads up for the one in Medway smile
If you travel to the UK at all then Dover to London up to the M2 this is 30 minutes from J3.
