These are a few years old when I had a proper 4x4

This one is a 'touch' dark but it makes sense to me as I was floating at the time...

I think your problem there is you are using a dead badger instead of a rear tyre...

That badger came highly recommended. Being a badger, it has great grip on one side, but the other side has next to none.

What do you chaps do to protect electrics, if anything?

Not much electrics on most older Landys. Only late 300Tdi's had ECU's.

So I did no real prep work. If I was doing it more often I probably would though. And I do admit after the fording in my pics the starter motor went.

Not much on old vits either, I was thinking of lights, battery, and other sensor connections, etc...

Lights - empty them afterwards hehe

Plugs and such, I suppose you could spray them with silicon or WD40 afterwards. Can't say I've done so though.

Well, I gave the engine a thorough does of silicone spray anyway, for the winter. I've filled my car with crappy river water, (in the pic above with the dead badger as it happens), and everything was fine. Was just curious really. I've no snorkel, so don't go overly deep anyway, but was curious what snorkel types do, if anything. I'd me more concerned with electrical stuff suffering rather than an issue with water going in the engine.

I think it's a sensible precaution tbh. Just one I've not really sat down and thought about.

On the old petrol Series LR's I used to fit a marigold over the dizzy with ignition leads passing through a hole in each finger. Each plug lead sealed in place with silicone sealant and everything had a good coating of silicone spray. High level breathers fitted to the axles and all gearboxes smile
