DREAMS COULD COME TRUE AT THE PH SHOW

Have you ever dreamed of becoming a real-life racing driver? Head to the PistonHeads Performance Car Show, held 14-17 January at the NEC in Birmingham, and this dream could become a reality.

Sony Computer Entertainment is hosting an on-stand opportunity at the show, where you can record a flying lap to enter this year's GT Academy and be in with the chance to get behind the wheel of a Nissan 370Z. Top prize is a fully paid season racing for the PlayStation Nissan team in the European GT4 Cup.

So start up the PlayStation 3 and prepare for the GT Academy 2010. Begin your journey from the game to the racetrack as you compete to become a real-life racing driver!

The PistonHeads Show will provide the only opportunity in the UK for aspiring racing drivers who don't own a PlayStation console to set their time around the virtual Indianapolis GP track, as well as get a sneak preview of the hotly anticipated Gran Turismo 5 game that is due for release later this year. PlayStation will also be awarding a prize for the fastest flying lap on each day of the show.

Gamers from all over the world are entering the challenge, with the competition covering 17 countries including Austria, Italy, Finland and as far afield as New Zealand. Last year's winner was 23-year-old Spanish student Lucas Ordoñez...this year it could be you!

"The GT Academy provides an unmissable opportunity for an experienced virtual racer to put their skills to the test on a real race track," said PistonHeads Show Director Ian France. "It's fantastic to be able to offer access to this competition at the show, and we hope all enthusiastic visitors will have a go in setting their fastest lap."

To set your fastest lap time, visit the GT Academy stand (19150), or for more information on GT Academy, visit www.facebook.com/GTAcademy

For motorsport fans not lucky enough to be attending this year's PistonHeads Performance Car show, they can enter by downloading the GT Academy Time Trial via the PlayStation Network (closing date 24 January 2010). The fastest times are posted on the in-game leader board and on eu.gran-turismo.com.

To note: Competitors must be over 18 to enter. Anyone who holds, or has held, a national or international race licence will not qualify for GT Academy. This rule is there to maintain the purity of the "virtual to real" challenge.
