Picture me in a floral dress and big smile if you wish, but here is todays NEC weather report....

No snow, and traffic flowing fine as we speak
Motorways good
No snow/ Ice on main access roads to the NEC
Snow/ Ice approaching and within lorry park where car access passes are given out. If you are sensible it is fine, approach at 70mph and you might have issues.

The ice in the lorry park is being treated and should sort itself out throughout the day, but please be aware as you drive around the NEC.

We'll update as we know more.

Update.

Weather still cold but dry with no sign of snow or rain currently

Main roads are all clear and moving as per normal, the rail connections are working to schedule and the airport is open and not showing any delays.

So far, so good.

There will be heavy snow in certain areas tomorrow around the West Midlands. Just printed off the weather report for our construction site and late morning looks likely. Heavy in high ground, should be fine though on main routes

I dropped my car off this afternoon and the roads were absolutely fine. My route was mainly A14, M6, M42 and the roads were in the main dry. No problems at all even for an Exige with A048R's on.

Fingers crossed we'll be OK.

Alex will be on site from 07.30 so will be able to report, and I am heading up from London at 07.00 so will be able to give some driving views too.

I arrived at the NEC at 10.15am and had no problem getting in (Aston V8). As has been said, some of the NEC roads are still covered in snow/slush but it really wasn't a problem if you go carefully/slowly.

You have to feel sorry for Alex wink ... he was there are 8am and I was the first to arrive two hours later (and the only one there at 12.30pm when I wandered off to catch a train ...). It certainly isn't warm outside the halls, and it's only a bit warmer inside! biggrin

Off-topic ... I've seen a lovely collection of cars starting to form on the Coys stand including Mk1 & Mk2 Lotus Cortinas ....

left the halls at 5pm, all the motorways, main roads and the NEC are fine, slush has gone, radio weathermen are saying -6 tonight with a chance of snow overnight

take a big coat its chilly inside the halls, if your tending to hang around and chat, not much heating on at the moment that will change though when the over head heaters are turned on

drove passed a PH TVR guy hosing his car off outside..bbbrrr...the orange AM looked great biggrin

2-3" of snow fell here overnight and it is still falling

The roads look horrible, snow covered ice (and we are on the main road!)

The gardeners snow ploughed next doors driveway at 8:30 and it is covered again

Best of luck getting here!
