Why can't i get a ticket for Friday, Who gets the gold cards

Why is the show being advertised as running 14th to the 17th if you can only attend on the saturday or the Sunday.....the ticket office say i need a gold card which has a reference number on it.
Come on Pistonheads- sort it out, who can afford to lose money in this day and age....don't care about the live shows just want to look at the cars!
Anyone have a gold card, know how i can get hold of one?

The show on Thursday and Friday is, and always has been, trade only for the Autosport show.
Historically when it was the 'Racing Car Show' it was designed as an interface for club racers and suppliers to meet and finalise details for the coming season. (I remember attending the show at Olympia in London)
It has grown significantly since then but the 2 days remain for the 'serious racing business' to be done.
Not an excuse, just some background.
