2010 PistonHeads Show

PistonHeads Performance Car Show 2010: Show matters

Well it's that time of year again, folks. It's getting dark before dinner, swine flu is in the air again, and PH Towers is buzzing with activity as preparations gather steam for the 2010 PistonHeads Peformance Car show.

We'll be at the NEC in Birmingham from the 14th to 17th January, and as you'd expect we're bringing a fine selection of shiny metal for your drooling pleasure. (Towels will not be provided...)

This year's show offers the best variety of cars we've ever had, with the sort of wildly varying selection of cars that any regular Sunday Service attendee will be familiar with.

Stands from a range of clubs and teams, manufacturers of cars and accessories and more will all be on hand to display their latest wares and offer advice and a friendly chat. We're also excited to be hosting several launches at the show - but you'll find out more about that nearer the time!

Making a welcome return at this years show is the ever-popular Readers' Cars area. Those of you who were with us last year will remember the wierd and wonderful selection of PHers machines we had on our stand, with something for everybody's ogling pleasure.

For the first time this year the PH show will also feature the 'Stuff Zone', an area dedicated to the latest in shiny gadgets of all kinds. A giant room filled with fast cars and gadgets? We are good to you, aren't we...

Tickets are now on sale here and plenty are available - but try to be quick as the show is always massively popular and ticket numbers are not unlimited!

Prices are as follows:

Standard Adult / Child (5-15 inclusive) £29 / £14.50
Paddock Pass Adult / Child £35 / £17.50
Platinum Club £100
Gold Card (Friday only) £40

We'll bring you more details as show time approaches, but in the meantime we've just launched a new area of the site exclusively devoted to the Performance Car show, and in it you'll find exclusive news and previews of what we're planning for January.

We've added a link to the show area from the front page, but you can go straight to it by going to pistonheads.com/show

What's the story with this and the BRSCC membership? Does BRSCC membership just cover the autosport show and then you pay extra for this?

Hey all,

I am going to try an answer all your questions here...

The show is more of 'a show' than the Sunday Service events, between the 10 halls at the NEC you will see in the region of 600 business exhibiting the lastest cars, track/road technology, some of the worlds top tuning companies and the excellent live action shows. The members car display includes cars that you may have seen at the sunday services but also some that you definatley wouldn't have.

The entrance price (including BRSCC offer) get you access to both shows, once you are in Autosport you are able to go to PH at no further charge, and vice versa.

I think this info is a little hard to find on the show page, sorry. I will get the tech savvy to sort it. The Platinum Club ticket includes;

- Exclusive access to the VIP enclosure at the very top of the Live Action Arena grandstand , complete with complimentary champagne and canapés
- Dedicated Club Lounge where Platinum Club ticket holders can chill out
- Exclusive access to the Coys Historic Car Auction Enclosure
- Complimentary parking at the NEC
- Complimentary Cloak Room
- Access to Driver Signing Area - get autographs of famous drivers & motor racing celebrities
- Fast-track entry to Live Action Arena
- Access to back stage Paddock area
- Paddock Guide
- Showguide
- Goodie bag

Hope this helps, there will be further news and features announced over the next few weeks.

In the mean time any questions or ideas please post/pm me.

Why do this? "All priced tickets are subject to an additional £2 booking fee per ticket."

Why not just be honest and say tickets are £31 ???? FFS!

Does anybody have a promotional code for tickets to the show? I remember seeing the promotional code on here last year and I used it.

There is no way I am spending £29 to go and see people trying to sell me things!!!!!

I'm pretty sure the invite was based on PH'ers that showed their car last year

We have tried to go out and find the cars this year rather than asking for offers, mainly to get something a little different. Also in the last two years we have had hundreds of cars offered, this meant we had a big list to work through already.

Always on the prowl for something rare though. If you have something 'a little different' mail me.

remember to allow for that lovely NEC car park charge, usually around £8 ....

been quite a few times, always good to go on the trade days before the most of the models get whisked away wink
