anyone got one spare ticket for Sat Autosport show?
Discussion
I would pay for the ticket! but as I had my identity stolen ( Barclaycard ) I cant use my cards online at present (until new card arrives) so only ask to see if any nice sole had a spare ( as can still pay with paypal ,which is what I would have done if anyone phones along with thanking them) but you two just look to be sarcastic and condersending! I'm not impressed with this but if that the way you behave on this forum it up to you!

My style is not derogatory or insulting to anyone! You may not like it and you’re entitled to your opinion, although I didn't and wouldn't comment on yours or anyone’s posts with the intension of being so demeaning! Enough said ..
I could not agree more.However ....
A relatively new member, with no posts or PH history, no profile information, or car details, expects to receive a free ticket, valued at £32, from another PHer?
I would say no - but then again .... who knows.

Barclaycard! You mean they stole your identity?tomblyth said:

Disagree. Your initial post, and the subsequent one were derogatory and insulting to the intelligence of all PHrs.Your initial post

No pleaseTom
No thank you
No explanation
And that was your first ever post on PH, no-one knows of you, even so, we are a helpful bunch, as demonstrated by the first 2 replies.
Despite what reads like a demand for a free ticket; Matt and Kinky still gave help - advised you to say please/Thank you, or to buy one on the door/Hotline
Your 2nd post

The first bit, that I have put into italics is what you should have put in your initial post to get more responses, together with a Thank you in advance. That said, few of us would trust a Paypal transaction on Friday for something on Saturday - neither the money nor the ticket would be with you/them for Saturday - an offer to meet people there with the cash would have been more sensible!
The rest of it, is uncalled for rudeness to 2 long standing members (one of whom is a Moderator, the other has his Car on display at the show) that tried to assist your predicament.
I would suggest that an apology is forthcoming from your goodself.
I hope that you have managed to get to the show today, bought a ticket on the door; and thoroughly enjoyed yourself

Oh dear, I really didn't think it was necessary to pass an examination by the thought police Pistonheads Grammar Board before posting on here...
The OP's post was succinct, yes, but better than the drawn-out waffle that one sometimes reads, with umpteen unnecessary quotes and requotes.
And any thought about a 'free' ticket is complete fabrication by those who were moaning about him, so who's 'in the wrong' there..?

so his first post was an acceptable way to ask for help then? and it was only from the op's additional posts that we found out he didn't want the ticket for free. Nothing to do with his grammar, I was always told it was polite to use please and thankyou The OP's post was succinct, yes, but better than the drawn-out waffle that one sometimes reads, with umpteen unnecessary quotes and requotes.

Maybe you should read my response, I went into it in order to help him, no grammatical errors pointed out at all, just the lack of clarity and politeness that you would expect to see when someone is asking for a favour. The OP's post was succinct, yes, but better than the drawn-out waffle that one sometimes reads, with umpteen unnecessary quotes and requotes.

it was succinct, there was no rude demand, simply an enquiry.Matt172 said:

But nothing in his original post to suggest otherwise, ie. it was fabricated to have a go at him. Matt172 said:

Indeed so, but where exactly was he being rude?Right - time to bring this to a close. The show is almost over, and if he's not got a ticket by now - then I suspect he won't in the next 3 hours and 32 minutes.
We could argue here all day about the OPs first post - but I suspect we won't get anywhere. Plus, I'm not sure it serves any benefit to anyone.
