£34 is outrageous!!
IMHO
You say that but a day out at a BTCC event will set you back the same. And you don't get a roof over your head for that! Not saying that the show is better than a race, it's a different beast all together, but with the show you can get alot closer to drivers, cars, the Live Action Arena and you don't have to worry about the rain! IMHO
Seriously though our costs rise significantly each year, we don't get the NEC for free...
I've been twice now, and while the show itself is OK at best the pricing only seems to be good. My son had wanted to meet some of the drivers so I got the paddock pass tickets. The sessions were timed so that we had the wonderful choice of seeing the live arena OR attend the signing sessions. We opted for the latter, but then found the queues were so utterly ridiculous (full of people who happily told us they were getting items signed to sell on ebay!) that we even missed two of them in spite of being in the queue!
As a car show, it's ok. There are several cars there which you wouldn't normally see, although there are no real "show stoppers". But if you were to ask me if it was worth the money I'd have to say no. Not even the lower price. This is probably why so many people ask for discount codes, it simply is not worth the cost, even less so as it falls so soon after Christmas.
Ultimately, we all have opinions on these things, some people like it, some don't. I fall firmly into the latter category.
Edit; In terms of prices, one thing which is a particular pet hate, "Admin fee"? The customer has already paid for a bloody ticket!! This fee should reflect the actual cost to the company of administering the tickets. There is no way on any planet that £2 and upwards reflects this.

I last went to this about 3 years ago. Having been a few times previous to that. I think if you have been once, then that's enough really, its a lot of the same stuff year after year, not much changes.
£34 + £10 parking (Even for disabled) then plus £5 for a burger and another £2 for a drink, I'd probably give it a miss.

I'm going with a few mates. £32 + £2 admin fee ("admin fee" FFS. Just put 'the ticket is £34'. Winds me up all these admin fees, booking fees, parking fees, credit card fees and any other bks someone can think of to scrape a bit more cash out of a punter. EasyJet all over again.)
Anyhow, the price initially made me wince, but then I imagine the NEC is eleventy million billion pounds per hour to rent, so not surprising.
I'm looking forward to it.

Please advise what tesco would have this under if they are doing a boost offer. Thx.
Does not look like Tesco are doing this under Clubcard Rewards- can only see the Cloths Show live at the NEC...I hate the parking/driving in respect of the NEC- always get the train and have just discovered split ticketing to get cheap tickets. The station next to the NEC and makes life much easier
Whenever I drive to the NEC I always park at Birmingham International Railway station.
Easier to get into and to get out off, and more importantly cheaper than the NEC parking charges themselves.
On another point, we really ought to do something about admin fees, booking fees and just about every other fleecing tactic employed by all ticket sellers - aren't the tickets generally too expensive without sticking additional charges on them anyway?
