Hello.

I'm going to Autosport International at the NEC Birmingham, on Friday 11th January (Trade day), and just wanted to ask some questions as i have never been to the event before and it is all new to me.

1. Firstly, is the Pistonheads show included in the price and what access do i get?

2. Secondly, how do i actually enter the Pistonheads show? Yes it's a slightly dumb question but i want to know whether the halls are joined together in one event or is it a matter of walking out of Autosport and into the Pistonheads show across the other side of the exhibition centre?

3. Thirdly, what cars can i expect to see while in Autosport/PH? I'm really into my supercars and that will be the main reason why i'm going, to see some new exotic cars which i haven't seen before.

4. Finally, who's going to be there? It would be nice to see someone famous.

Thanks chaps! thumbup

Based on previous years:

1. Yes. You can walk around all of it.

2. It's in the corner of the main exhibition. The difficult bit is working out where one finishes and the other starts.

3. There's not much in the way of new supercars that I've noticed. Primarily, it's a motorsport show, focussing on the technical side of things, so supercars from big manufacturers don't really feature. For example, I think the biggest stand last year was either Radical or Ginetta.

4. Try the official website - they list the famous people they've booked. It's not like Goodwood where there's famous people and supercars everywhere you look. There's displays of iconic racing cars surrounded by a whole host of companies selling cars, parts and events. There's an exhibitors list you can use to see what companies will be there.

Oh no, you're kidding me? That's the only reason i bought tickets; so i could go into both shows on the day!

EDIT: Can't the Pistonheads events team change the dates so i can get in on the Friday? Just a thought. smile

Good answers, thanks for that. thumbup

On number three you said that there are no real supercars there, but i assume you were talking about the Autosports show and not the two shows combined? I'd like to hear what cars show up at the Pistonheads show as well (Not that it really matters now though, my dates were wrong!)

I'm talking about the whole show (it's not really two shows, just an area in the corner). I don't remember much exotica without numbers on the side. A new Noble is the only thing that sticks out in my mind, which looked lovely and was lit up with fancy lighting. I think I saw a Ferrari 458 too.

This may be a dumb question but why is it called the Performance Car Show then?

Last year in the performance car section there was loads of Porsches, SLSs, Atom V8, Noble M600, Lexus LFA, some Ferraris and various RS Fords. Porsche have had the 918 concept on their stand before as well. Generally a lot of motorsport vehicles though as it is mainly a Motorsport show. I normally go on the Thursday trade day and the performance car show is there. Don't know if that'll be different this year though.

I'm booked into Hall 19 (the PH bit) for the whole show. I think it's the live action arena which is weekend only.

I have been the last couple of years on the Friday and am 100% sure the PH show is NOT on that day. however you may be getting confused with the live action arena show which IS on, but that is definately not the PH show!!

The live show is OK, but thos things don't really float my boat. Hovever I normally get dragged in there and it was a lot better last years than it was several years ago where it was like a Max Power show with the most exciting thing being girls dancing to loud music and tts doing donuts.

As per the main PH thread on the homepage, apparently the PH bit is NOT open on Thursday and Friday, just the 12th and 13th which is the weekend.

As I stated in my previous posts, I think some people are confusing the Pistonheads show with the live action arena show......

If you're visiting Thursday or Friday come and say hello, I'm on stand 19240 in Hall 19 (The PistonHeads Show!). If the hall isn't open I'll (a) look a prat, and (b) buy you a beer

Sorry but is the Pistonheads show open or isn't it? We are getting some very mixed responses here.

The PH show has always been open during the trade days, they don't advertise it because there would be no point advertising the show to the public who cannot get in on the trade days
