Epiphone Les Paul Special II

Does anybody have any experince of these, as I was thinking of getting one (it's also one I can get as a lefty, albeit in only 2 of the sunburst finishes). Or is it worth saving a few more quid and getting one of the bolt on neck LP100's

Wow, doppleganger! I'm a lefty looking also considering a Epi les paul cherry sunburst

From the research I've done so far including talking to a few bods in guitar shops, the Epiphone Les Paul is really good for the money and unless you are really good with guitars, it will be hard to distinguish the sound from a real Les Paul. I think there are other makers of Les Paul out there including some who sell to the Japanese market which can them be re-imported but I haven't been able to get an agreed opinion on whether they are better or worse. Given Epiphone are owned by Gibson, I would think the epi is the safter bet. I'm just waiting for the missus to buy me one now!

what a strange coincidence, i too am thinking of a Epi Les Paul. recently received an email from GAK outlining some great deals on some rather special models and am sorely tempted. A les Pal is the only guitar not yet in my collection, and i always thought i would get a Gibson Les Paul, but looking at the ridiculous prices they now fetch i am not so sure, and i have heard great things of Epi LP's

Definitely get the set neck model. I have a bolt neck Epi SG around here somewhere, and it just feels cheap compared to my proper one.
