What do you guys think of this - Joy Division / Cure content

My taste in music - as my wife refers to it - is music to slit your wrists to.

Of this genre, Love Will Tear us Apart is probably my favourite.

I stumbled across this cover by, off people, the Cure.

I can see how many would hate it, but I kind of like it. The upbeat interpretation of the music contrasts quite well with Bob's voice and the lyrics.

What say you fellow fans of Joy Division. Sacrilege or not?

It's not quite sacrilege, but it doesn't appeal...that is despite being a fairly avid Cure fan.

I'm a huge Amanda Palmer fan, but I'm not 100% on the whole evelyn evelyn thing, however there's some humour in them doing this song.

I'll be checking out the cure version when I get home as I'm also a big cure fan.

As an aside - Anyone else unable to watch the news at the moment without F.I.R.E.I.N.C.A.I.R.O going through their head?

Good but I still prefer the JD version.

The Cure are more successful than most with their covers I think ~ these Doors & Hendrix cover are genius IMHO. Play as loud as possible...........

Never been convinced by that Cure cover (and The Cure are my favourite band, by quite some margin). However, this cover of The Cure's 'Trust' by 'Homogenic' is outstanding I think.
