Went last Sunday at the NEC, and it was excellent. No gimmicks, just good old rock 'n' roll, done well. Apparently, he's 63, but you wouldn't think it to watch the show.

Just wanted to share.

Seen him a few times, most recently was two/three years back at Wembley. As you say, good old fashioned rock done with a passion and done for the audience to enjoy, a true performer.

First gig I ever saw. He put on a brilliant show.

/useless fact
Support that day was an unknown band called Terraplane who went on to become Thunder.

I watched Mr Loaf for many years through the nineties, and I always thought he/they put on a VFM show.

I think I must have been to 8-10 gigs over the years.

Im slightly surprised he's still going as the music feels very dated these days.

God bless Jim Steinman though....

I saw him a few years back and to be honest it was the most disappointing gig I have ever been to. I paid big money to sit near the front and I love his music and it is the kind of music that NEEDS a big voice to be pulled off live.

Sadly his voice was/is well past it and the whole thing was a disappointment IMO - it was like Meat Loaf lite.

I think it was a few shows after that or the following tour where he had some seirous problems with his voice and had to cancel the tour and ;retired'.

I was surprised them, when he annouced this most recent tour (charging a fair bit) - sounded like a disaster waiting to happen! Obviously it sounds like he got through it but probably not to the standard I would expect.

I know he was old and cannot be expected to sing well, but when I saw him I thought if he was that bad he shouldnt be toruing and charging high ticket prices to peopel for such poor performances.
