Buying Jeff Beck
Discussion
Depends what you prefer. 'Blow By Blow' and 'Wired' contain some sublime guitar work, although quite jazz-influenced. For out and out rock, probably 'Guitar Shop', 'Big Town Playboys' is pure '50's R'N'R, some of the later albums contain everything from opera to rock and everything in-between.
Beck encompasses virtually every genre of music from the last half-century; what do you want?

His first "Jeff Beck Group" album Truth is bloody brilliant if you like smoky, hipshot blues playing. Rod Stewart is great on the vocals as well.
Otherwise, another vote for Blow By Blow.

A great tune from Truth http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0agVtbLcq-I
