rediscovering tears for fears

i'm old enough to remember them the first time and still have the cassette tapes to prove it.a recent trip to hmv had my nostalgia head on and WOW!.i'd forgotten just how good their first two albums were(the hurting and songs from the big chair).

i've always been a fan of various 80's bands and have stayed right in touch with depeche mode all the way through.always thought nik kershaw was a cracking songwriter and have even bought his very low key albums over the last 10 years but for some reason i had never revisited tears for fears.glad i have now!

Picked The Hurting from the secondhand record shelves a year or two ago. Cracking album. Not so keen on their later work, though.

They split up in 91 but Orzabal kept going and released "Elemental" and "Raoul and the Kings of Spain" both cracking albums.

Think they are back together now?

yeah,i believe so.found that later stuff orzabal did on youtube and agree it is very very good.can't wait to see some new material

Orzabal has grown into a top class producer as well.

Did some cracking work with Emiliana Torrini a while back.
