...sound to me like repetitive, whiney Country Rock, from the same bland stable as Foo Fighters.

They seem to be feted wherever they go,particularly championed by various radio stations at the moment, and people between 25 - 35 who are trying to be cool.

Can anyone explain how terribly mistaken I am?

well, firstly, they are nothing like foo fighters, who happen to be fantstic biggrin

i loved youth and young manhood, aha shake heartbreak and because of the times, brilliant albums IMHO, but the last two outings have left me cold

I can't really see what you're getting at, considering their 5 albums have all been slightly different, so can't really be judged as the same...

Fantastic band IMO with very interesting background.

I do see where you're coming from about the new-found 'hype' though.

Will probably sound like a 'you weren't there man' person, but they've become hideously commercial, but still listenable.

Bought there first album on import and remember spending a summer listening to it before anyone else. I knew they'd crack it just not in the form they are.

As for being overrated, people evidently like their stuff, and seems to do really well at writing songs people want to listen to, so no.

Sounds like average guitar stuff to me. Chart fodder.

I like a few tracks but not my fave band. Only heard Radioactive from the new album which sounds simular to the stuff on the last one.

Love the Foo Fighters though.

Nothing like the FF.

They are a good guitar band, produced some very good stuff in the past but recent stuff whilst listenable isn't classic material.

I agree with a few of the comments above. I thought their first 3 albums were awesome, but the last two sound like they are trying to be the new U2.

This might just be me not liking them now everyone else does though....

They were the headline act at V festival this year.

We stayed for four-five songs before fighting our way out and going to Groove Armada, who were awesome smile
Kings of Leon really were on a whole new level of boring.

Petered out VERY quickly. Super-dull these days, but the darlings of the 'name-dropper' music fans..
