I've been taken in by the global monster that is Nike, and downloaded their Nike+GPS app in a half-hearted bid to inspire me to lose my gut.

I want to build a playlist of music to go running to.

I like all types of music, new and old; but I don't want anything too cheesy, nor anything too hardcore. So, suggestions for downloads please?

Zorba the Greek - and you have to run in time with it.

but more helpfully I find instrumental music much better than anything with words in it for exercising to. It also stops you trying to sing along and looking like a twerp!

I always do cardio work to that kind of music. Keeps me moving.

I ran to The Black Album - Jay Z this evening and the beat matched my pace which is a pretty slow 8 - 10 minute mile.

Seemed to help me cover distance, obviously not helping pace but then i'm not really interested in that at the time being.

Oddly, I find myself listening to podcasts and sometimes audiobooks when I run. I find listening to people talking allows me to switch off and pass the time quicker.

Wolf like me by TV on the radio is a great one to pick the pace up with.

I just mark all the songs I like for running with a 5 star top rating on i-tunes. I then have a playlist of about a 1000 songs in the 'top rated' playlist. Press shuffle and go.
