It's been done before, but Music of Black Origin Awards are on now. I have nothing against it at all, enjoying the music. So much talent. But what would happen if there was a MOWO award?

Waste of time, there's plenty of Welsh music in the charts.

There already is a MOWO award in all but name (and award).

It's called either The Proms or The Country Music Awards, depending on which way your jib is cut.

It just makes me laugh that you've got JLS and the like winning mobo awards. In that case why aren't all the other cheesey pop groups up there? - oh yeah because they're not black.
MOBO awards, legalised racisim.

I'm pretty sure that white artists have won MOBOs. Its 'music of black origin' - not 'music by black people'

Music of white origin, as someone pointed out before, is The Proms for example.

Yes white artists have won before, but it just seems an excuse to give black people awards. If pixie lott had black skin, i have no doubt what-so-ever she would be wining mobo awards.

So white people (Amy Winehouse, 2007, for example) winning the MOBOs is fine, but black people winning it is OMGRACISM?

Hardly a consistent position to adopt.

No, there just seems to be a rule that if you're black, it doesnt matter what the origin of the music is, you're automatically eligable to win.

Based on what?

Amy Winehouse, despite what you might think of her (the hopeless skanky trollop that she is) sings in forms (soul, jazz, r&b) that are indisputably of black origin.

You could have the best black singer in the world but if their musical output consisted of Gregorian chants and opera, they wouldn't be in the MOBOs.

Or can you point to a MOBO winner whose music is not of black origin?

Well, actually, neither of you should be allowed to use that word as it is offensive to most.

I'm of the opinion that "nincompoop" is a word which isn't used often enough. Certainly not offensive enough to be asked to leave a football match.

I've heard that the nincompoops are using the word against each other in their community to reclaim the word from the many nincompoops opressors out there.

If the MOBO's was a credible music award show I could see your argument but the whole thing is a joke and always has been and this is coming from someone half black.

I've actually been banned by the missus from watching this programme as I yell abuse at the TV when it is on.
