I'm pretty sure that white artists have won MOBOs. Its 'music of black origin' - not 'music by black people'
Music of white origin, as someone pointed out before, is The Proms for example.
Yes white artists have won before, but it just seems an excuse to give black people awards. If pixie lott had black skin, i have no doubt what-so-ever she would be wining mobo awards. Music of white origin, as someone pointed out before, is The Proms for example.

Hardly a consistent position to adopt.

So white people (Amy Winehouse, 2007, for example) winning the MOBOs is fine, but black people winning it is OMGRACISM?

No, there just seems to be a rule that if you're black, it doesnt matter what the origin of the music is, you're automatically eligable to win.Hardly a consistent position to adopt.

Amy Winehouse, despite what you might think of her (the hopeless skanky trollop that she is) sings in forms (soul, jazz, r&b) that are indisputably of black origin.
You could have the best black singer in the world but if their musical output consisted of Gregorian chants and opera, they wouldn't be in the MOBOs.
Or can you point to a MOBO winner whose music is not of black origin?
