I am a huge fan of Simon Dinnigan when it comes to classical guitar, and there is a new clip on the 'tube with him playing an Albeiniz standard (one of only four Dinnigan clips on YouTube). Anyway.

One of the related links was of Ana Vidovic, and she is magnificent. In terms of touch, feel, and technique I think she's the equal of Dinnigan. A legend in the making for me:

Easy on the eye, also.

Agreed... on all counts.

Slightly off-topic, who clicks dislike ffs. Did they dislike the black curtain? Was there fluff on the stage?

+1

There is absolutely nothing to dislike about either the performance or the woman herself. Everything about it is absolute perfection.

I've always had complete respect for any classical guitarist, when someone like this has mastered it, its utterly captivating - just listening with your eyes closed in a dark room, or watching the performance.

I really do need to look for some of these performances and get them on the iPod .... after which the journey home will be considerably more relaxing.

Well, if I'm being really picky... her clothing wasn't revealing enough for her position.

On a serious note, does she perform Concierto de Aranjuez? My favourite classical guitar piece.

Edit: ooh look, found the tab for CdA. Back in 18 years. hehe
http://www.songsterr.com/a/wa/song?id=39327 You can mute the guitar to perform with the orchestra! cool

Even if her clothing was sufficiently revealing, there's a bloody big guitar strategically placed to stop the viewing of anything.

I used to be able to play a little guitar, and had a lodger for a few months who was a wannabe virtuoso. He got me into playing some Tito and Tarantula stuff (off the Tarantism album). After months of practice, I think I got myself from running at around 1/10th of their speed to 1/5th .....

And after you mentioning CdA, I've started listening to Paco De Lucia again. Thats going to be an evening wasted listening. And that also resulted in my hearing Buckethead for the first time - he looks like an idiot, but damn .... is he good!

There is something about a classical musician who looks hot. Dunno what it is.

Am guessing you mean: http://kj.tv/

Thumbing through my laminated ( wink ) copy of Classic FM Magazine, it dawned on me that the number of genuinely attractive women was quite high for a reason:
1) rich bloke pulls hot, thick woman
2) marry
3) have pretty children
4) hot, thick wife wants to compete with other middle class, bored, hot, thick mothers so sends pretty children to music school and forces them to take lesson/exams
5) Pretty children grow up and become the Katherine Jenkins and Ana Vidovics that we see today.

Note to self: if date pretty daughter of hot, thick woman don't refer to future mother-in-law as hot, thick woman.

Oh, no idea, then. Katherine Jenkins usually does that kind of thing.

Now, this tune ties my fingers in knots trying to play it but Ana - as is usual for the greats - makes it look ridiculously easy:

Even John Williams doesn't look as effortless as that. And he transcribed it for guitar in the first place!

Thank you for the link. I have to admit that although I've always been a fan of guitar music, whether it be classical or rock 'n roll, I'd never heard of her. Great talent, and rather easy on the eye too!
