Been listening to this band recently but cannot make up my mind about them.

Are they innovators that just happen to sound like a cross between the Cure, Faithless and Massive attack? Or an 80s pastiche with an electronica tip?

There entire album sounds the same to me, there could of been only 2 or 3 songs on the entire album to my ears. Not really my cup of tea, The Islands (Not too sure of the name) is pretty good.

I bought the album, thought it was good background music with a couple of standout tracks.

I then saw them at Somerset House and couldn't get into it at all.

I was bought the album a few weeks ago by the GF and I really like it. Its getting a lot of repeat plays in the car but, depending on my mood, I can skip a lot of the back end of the album.

The frequency of plays might have a lot to do with the quality of the other cds in the car however.

Yep. Totally agree with that. I like the first few songs with a couple I really like but get very bored towards the second half of the album and normally make the effort of getting out my iphone.... unlocking it... finding the music player.. and switching the fk over

I thought the album was fantastic for a debut.

How about The XX vs Notorious B.I.G...

Can't work them out really. Not a huge fan, but they definitely seem to be flavour of the month confused

I think flavour of the month sums them up quite well. I saw them for the first time at a festival this year and I am not sure where they could take their stripped back sound next.

At my age, the only underground I am likely to be involved with is 6 foot under!

I've tried listening to the album a few times, I just can't quite get into it.

Beautiful sound, well produced, but seems to be lacking something.

The girl in it makes Rumer Willis look positively attractive.

Ahhh I love the XX! So good, loving Crystallised the most.
I'm not sure they're going to keep being good tho, could just be a bit of a one hit wonder

Think they're fantastic. Saw them a while back and the singer's voice really could melt velvet. Shivers down the spine stuff. Love the album, every track. Think it's one of the best albums of this decade for me.

I love the album as well; lovely, elegant, atmospheric stuff.
