We have in the house a Japanese Squier Strat. It's seen a lot of action and the neck is badly worn now between the frets. Question is...what neck should it be replaced with?
JV serial number Strats are (apparently) regarded as better than the US version of the time...is this so?? Should I get as good a neck as I can for it?? Or just go with a current Squier neck...from China?

No, go for quality. Several manufacturers do 'Approved by Fender' necks; can't remember their names but someone on here will remind me i'm sure!

MightyMite necks are supposed to be pretty good and not too expensive...

Stew Mac as well. Although I would be looking at just a fretboard replacement rather than the whole neck.
