I have a single out on October 4th and I was wondering if the people of pistonheads would give it a listen... i'd like your thoughts

not sure why I get that vibe, think it's the delay & chorus on the guitar and your vocals!
And the Copeland-style bell of the ride on the off-beat too.I like it. Another one of the OP's tracks is on Spotify - http://open.spotify.com/track/1cc7ScCddXxBcAsLeGHi...
Your drummer's good - got musical flair that is seldom heard in chart music.

Hey guys, thanks for the positive feedback!!!
I produced the track myself at a studio in north London and it was mixed by a chap called James Kenosha, who is brilliant.
Its funny, a lot of people hear The Police in my music... which is only a good thing and the drummer, Tom Knox is compare to Stuart Copeland a LOT... and he loves that , its a real compliment! SC is a genius.
Its great that the people of pistonheads enjoy my art!
Oh and I thought you might like to know... Rob Da Bank from Radio 1 got in touch last night, wanting an mp3 to spin on his show. Things are looking up

Rob's a really nice guy, you may get a slot at the Bestival on the smaller stage they have there if you're lucky!Edited by Jellymonster on Wednesday 11th August 09:42

Liked the song, but the main thing that struck me is the video looks really slick (for what is I assume an indie label?) A mate's band have just done their first proper video and they really struggled, so I've got some idea how difficult it is to pull it off.
It is difficult but IMO, it's all about the team. I've had one guy do a video that was never quite right and it's been over a year of rejigging this and changing that... nightmare. Then, I've worked with a guy who shot, edited and did post prod' all within two weeks and the result was spot on. It's all about finding the right person(s) for the job as there's a fine line between great and awful. The video with Jelly is very good.hey, thanks for the feedback. I think i'll leave the aggressive instrumental endings to slayer
Chris + LDN, thanks for the comments, i'm very happy with how the video turned out. Music videos can quite easily look student esque and cheesy when you're working to a small budget. I came up with the concept, assisted with the editing as I had a clear vision of how i wanted it to look aesthetically and fortunately, the company I instructed to film it executed perfectly. Videos can be a real nightmare. My old band had a TERRIBLE video made once... it went straight in the bin!!
Tim, its odd, people have been saying my vocal reminds them of sting... and now Paul Smith. I must sound like a geordie when I howl Its no bad thing though, they're both excellent singers.. especially sting, the police are one of my favourite bands.
hey guys, if you have a spare couple of minutes, feel free to re-tweet the link for the video or put it on your facebook page or any forums you frequent etc.. the more people who see the video, the more chance it won't be a flop when it comes out

nah.. but I went there a lot as a child for holidays I'm a Leeds lad through and through.
you can hear a bit more of a song off my album at myspace.com/jamesowenfender but its quite a heavy song, not a reflection on the rest of the album really!
