Porcupine Tree
Discussion
I am a big prog fan, but one of the bands i have never really got in to listening was Porcupine Tree. However i have just been gave Fear of A Blank Planet a few listens and i love it.
Any other good albums you would reccomend?
Been listening to Transatlantic a bit as well but they are still doing nothing for me, which is strange as i really like the bands the guys come from.

I had never heard of them until the OH's uncle suggested listening to them last week.My favourite at the moment is Blackest Eyes, off the In Absentia album.Strip The Soul is quite good too.Sorry I'm not much help, but I'm wading through their stuff for the first time myself.
Let me know if you find some blinders as well,if you don't mind.

Have you tried 'The Whirlwind'? Portnoy's drumming is unbelieveable. Their best album by far....Mole... said:

Their earlier albums were more proggy - a good one to get is "Stars Die - The Delirium Years" which is a compilation of the best of the early stuff.Any other good albums you would reccomend?
Their latest DVD - Anesthetize is excellent if you like concert DVDs.
My faves are

and

which, IMO, have a touch of utter genius about them, but you have to listen to a lot of padding to find the good tracks
