Identifying an album?

Ok guys, I've just been given an album of rather spiffing acoustic fingerstyle guitar music. Problem is that I don't know what the album is. All I have is 16 tracks in MP3 format, in a folder called "Acoustic Fingerstyle". The tracks are named just 'Track 1" to "Track 16" and there's no artist or album information.

I'm pretty sure it's a compilation by various artists, as although the music is similar, it's not that similar. A couple of the tracks sound like they could be early Preston Reed, another sounds like it could be Ry Cooder, another Martin Simpson, and so on.

I'd really like to track down the name of the original album - not least so I could buy a legit copy! Any ideas? All I've got to go on are the track lengths, and the iTunes store doesn't seem to have anything with 'fingerstyle' in the title with 16 tracks.

Any ideas?

shazam a few tracks on iphone app...... might tell artist/album or link you to more info....... probably won't work as sounds a tad obscure.

Good idea, I'd not tried Shazam before. Unfortunately it only identified 2 of the tracks, and it got both of them wrong. Which is a real shame, I tested it on a few of my other tracks and it identified them no probs, so I think this must be a very obscure recording - it could even be home made, I suppose.

Might be worth a go. You could do a search on some of the possible artists mentioned and see if they've been on any compilations that look likely (and so on).

Nice try thanks, but I couldn't match any of the songs. But it's exactly the right genre of stuff.
