I bought my first ever bass the other day, only a cheap one as I'm just trying it out to see if I like it before I spend money on a new one.

Only problem is a crack in the neck, I was told about this on ebay hence the cost but I was wondering if there is any way to repair this?

Assuming it's a bolt on... just bolt a new one on! It looks daunting but it is really surprising what you can do with guitars.

If it doesn't effect playing, I would just save up and buy a good one when if decide to take the plunge.

I wouldn't mind tying that as the rest is in good condition, could I just buy a new neck and head though?

Depends what style it is, but if it's a Fender copy there's quite a few on here http://www.allparts.uk.com/online-shop/allparts-gu... that would just bolt on.

Where on the neck is the crack? It might be repairable by a guitar tech as the trussrod takes quite a lot of the load rather than the wood.

Post a pic and I will tell you what to do.

If you can't do the pic then give a detailed description (including the make and type of guitar, and where exactly the crack is, how big it is, what direction it runs in). If it's a cheap guitar it probably would not be appropriate to fit a new neck

It can be fixed - the longer the crack is the better as it gives more room for the glue to hold. Most guitar shops can point you in the direction of someone who can fix it.
