Michael Jackson - 1 Year On

I cant believe its been one year. The only guy in the world I think about everyday. Michael Jackson has had a massive effect on my life. His music is pure genius and will never be eclipsed. There is no artist in the world dead or alive that even comes close to Michael Jackson. I do think of my self as a hardcore Jackson fan. I have even been to Neverland in California in 2008. We got as far as the 2nd gate before been escorted off by security. I could see the main house and the park rides. I was on a road trip of western USA at the time. I had 4 tickets to see him live other 4 different days. I am even thinking of a Michael Jackson tattoo.

People may read this and I think I am crazy. I have met even more hardcore fans! It just awful that hes gone. As I have said his music is unmatched. He was also a generous and caring person and greatly misunderstood. Michael Jackson is indeed, a gift from God.

Music was good, not necessarily great. His singing ability was nowhere near what it was in his earlier days.

I must admit this does grind my gears a little. Granted he was a very talented musician and gave people a lot of joy through his music. BUT HE WAS JUST A MAN. "Thinking about him everyday" - really. I think maybe you should take up darts or cricket or any other hobby for that matter because no one should be thinking about Micheal Jackson everyday apart from his family, bubbles and his ex doctor.

I watched a good documentary on him last night. It was more about his music career with his brothers than the rest of his life. His influences, and some of those that influenced him talking about what he did to make their style his own. A very good, revealing documentary about what the man should be remembered for - his music.

Maybe his music was not to everyone's taste, not completely to mine but I admire his achievements - there are some gems in his back catalog.

Talented, tortured, flawed, potentially dodgy, but his passing was too early. RIP.
