Online guitar lessons/study work
Discussion
Thought this may have been a sticky but can any of you suggest some good websites to pick up some lessons?
I can play fairly well, to the stage i have gigged with a band. Quite dextrous (sp?) and can perform a few solos etc.
I've always been the one teaching other people to play and while i enjoy that, i'm looking to steal from someone better as it were. Basically i'm not pushing myself so i'm not really learning.
I've got right back into my acoustic side of things and would like to be able to take that a step further as my mate has a band with just 2 rhythm guitarists and joining them on stage won't quite work with what i can produce at the minute.
I'm looking for lessons on picking arpeggios, building up the finger work there, harmonies and harmonics etc, solo stuff.
Everything i come across online gives you the basics and then it's a case of go pick up a tab and practice. That's fine but there's a level missing with the tabs that i think can only be taught in person.
I kind of feel like i'm just below making that step to a good guitarist, i just need a nudge in the right direction.
So any good suggestions or should i just go pay for some lessons?
Cheers,
Olie

I have been playing the guitar for a long time and am basically self-taught. Having said that I have grade 8 on another instrument and can hear things in my head that I can now see from lessons online most people learn my rote (all the scales). But I have learnt things from some of the online lessons and it has made me realise that if I had had a few lessons from someone better than me when I was starting out I would have progressed so much more quickly. So I would say - pay for some lessons from someone who is good.
