Pretty sure this isn't a repost.

Anyone heard it, I reckon it sounds pretty alright some pretty solid parts but not their best work. I like the direction of the sound though so here's hoping for an awesome album.

Yeah, heard it last night on the radio.Pretty good.Doesn't sound like them though so that's probably why!Saw them a number of times in the 80's and early 90's and thought the whole Maiden thing was a bit contrived.First album rawest and best IMO.

Did Bruce record his vocals from inside a cupboard or something?

Not too bad a track, hope it is the worst track on the album though.

I'm really pissed off they are only doing one UK show. You would think as they are British band they would do a couple more for home crowd. Especially as Bruce always says the UK is the best place to play(suspect he says that to every crowd).

Anyone heard any rumors of more shows in 2011?

they've been ignoring the UK for a while now.

Remember 1999 - when Bruce came back, they didnt do one UK show on the Ed Hunter tour.

And after Death on the Road tour they said they would only do festival dates. Which seems to suit Bruce and Nico's ego of playing in front of huge crowds, and suits the Management.

I've still got two spare tickets for dublin.....

I like the new track, needs another listen though.

I watched a gig last night recorded in Gothenburg and shown on swedish TV, they only played songs from teh first four albums...excellent stuff.

Can't say i'm that impressed to be honest....and thats coming from a diehard Maiden fan. Bruce's voice sounds a lot like his solo projects.....Tyranny Of Souls and the like.

It may grow on me but we'll see. It's not causing as much excitment as when they released 'Brighter Than a Thousand Suns' on the website before the AMOLOD album came out.

What do you guys think of the artwork?

Growing on me. Does sound rather like Bruce's solo stuff in places, but that's not exactly a bad thing. Certainly sounds more immediate and rocky than AMOLAD, but the track listing and song lengths suggest it's not going to be a rocky album. We shall see. Bit annoying that Sonisphere is the only UK show this year, but maybe we'll get some more dates next year. Get 'em at the O2 for a few nights or something...can't be doing with festivals.

????

They did a full tour for 'A Matter Of Life And Death' and a full world wide tour for Flight 666.

Just gave this new track a listen, and i'm quite liking it thumbup The vocals sound a little underwhelming - maybe just the MP3 copy, but they sound too low in the mix.

Totally agree, especially when 99% of everything else at the festival is total ste.

I agree with the previous statement. They do very much appear to be ignoring the UK market. I saw the Matter Of Life & Death tour, but that was 4 years ago. Since then, there has been a single date at Twickenham on the Flight 666 tour which I couldn't make and now a single festival date at Sonisphere, which I cannot justify the cost of as I have little interest in most of the rest of the bill.
Two dates in 4 years strikes me as poor effort for their home crowd! They are doing a full US tour this summer (with Dream Theater in support - now I'd love to see that bill), yet one festival date here. Surely there has to be a proper UK arena tour on the cards for late in the year or next year (with Dream Theater?)?

Seem to be day tickets for Sonisphere now, but it still means sitting in a field outside Stevenage surrounded by Funeral for a Friend fans, which isn't really my idea of fun.

no report from sonisphere?

well, here's mine from Dublin.

first the support, Sweet Savage were excellent, Maiden are so relaxed about stuff these days support gets a fair crack of lights and sound and SS took advantage. Genuine rock band tight and honed from years of gigging, and a superb rendition of Whiskey in the Jar to finish which got everyone going.

Then at 8:45 Maiden exploded on stage and mayhem broke out - talk about mosh! to describe it to people who don't put themselves in there for gigs to really experience huge bands at close quarters is difficult. somewhere between extacy, euphoria and sheer survival. And people ask "you put yourself through THAT??? WHY?"

why? because it is amazing. maiden rocked and i mean fkin rocked, so loud and so well it was as good as I've seem them. and this was my 4th time. young an old, and loads of first timers - demostrated when bruce took a straw poll before rolling into Blood Brothers.

we sang, screamed and bounced through wicker man, ghost of the navigator, wrathchild before it even began to settle. the set list was dominated by newer longer tracks and i was a atad sceptical but accepting that you can't just keep playing the same old tracks all the time. The new material DOES genuinley work live as they all have the riffs and Bruce - the ultimate showman - holds it together with energy, and towering vocals. did i mention energy? the guy never stops! and the cool thing is he lets the other guys have their moments.

benjamin breeg was a highlight as were colours don't run. no pascendale sadly - i think there might have been a pyrotechnic limit as there were no firewroks even during ...Beast. no matter, they roared through the setlist and time was flying. By the time Iron Maiden came on it was back to moshing and Fear of the Dark was mental as it was sensational - what an anthem that has become.

an encore of Hallowed and running free with band intros and a great crowd chant rounded things off superbly.

topping it off was an unforgettable moment during Wildest Dreams where me and the other half were looking at Bruce and there was a bit of a space in front of us, we were singing and pointing and we put our thumbs up to Bruce and he put his thumb up and said "alright?" and he was looking directly at us! i can't remember the next song as it was like that was the coolest thing ever!!! for my missus it was her first maiden gig and for that moment to happen like that was just amazing - it really put the icing on a brilliant cake.

what a gig, what a band.
