Anyone else heard this yet? I won't pass judgement on here as i suspect most people havn't - but its out there to listen to if you look! It's called Blackbirds and appears on an app they released for the iPhone called '8 bit rebellion'. You can hear the track after you complete the game apparently.

I like it, not amazing in my opinion though.

Remember when I first heard New Divide, all excited, sounded like they were going back on form so to speak hehe I don't think they've done one song I dislike, but I do prefer the first two albums.

So do they have a new album coming out soon?

14 years on, new single that is awesome and the incredible news they’re touring with a new lead singer.

The live stream was quite something and with over 5.5m views there seems to be a lot of love for them.

Was just looking for a thread on LP but only found this one. She can wail, that's for sure. I'm not sure how I feel about it all however. Feels a bit like a tribute band. I wonder if they should have just left it?

She has a powerful voice and I really enjoyed listening to her sing the hybrid theory songs. i believe she will settle into the role and get better and better, she is brave as they are big shoes to fill.

I love that it isn’t the end of Linkin Park, Chester cannot be replaced so I think they’ve chosen well to do something different and bring Emily on board. Excited to see what comes and desperately hope I can get O2 tickets next week.

Can't be LP without Chester, one of if not the greatest rock vocalists. It's like Nirvana without Kurt, Joy Division without Ian, Motorhead without Lemmy and so on.

Will be interesting to hear what the new album is like. I never thought they’d tour again or produce any more music so this is great news. I agree it won’t be the same, it can’t be and it shouldn’t be either. New lead singer will bring something different.

Wow that was absolutely incredible!!! She is amazing. What a genius idea to get a female to replace Chester. She has a great voice, looks great and has so much charisma....really like the new single as well.....suppose the proof will be in the new album.

I still can't believe I passed up on tickets last time they were here with Chester. One of the biggest bands of my teenage years.

Not sure how I feel about this. I've not really been such a fan after the first three or so albums so future direction will be interesting.

Unfortunately just confirmed a different event for their London night so no decisions needed to be made.

I was never a LP fan tbh back in the day but can respect their work now, especially after Chester departed. I quite like the new song and singer.

That’s up to the band and Chester’s family. If they think it’s right to make new music and tour again then I respect their decision. The new track is excellent, and having watched a good chunk of the live stream they did, I’ll be buying tickets for their tour if I can get them.

The comments on Youtube are very very interesting - much along the liens of its a new era rather than the new singer sucks

A smart move to go with a lady to sort of keep the past separate

Jaime Bennington really not happy on Insta.

Emily seems to have some 'political' baggage in the US, and announcing her entering the line up during Suicide Prevention Week perhaps wasn't the most sensitive call.

I'm really digging the track to be honest and I'm not a massive LP fan.

We used to listen to them in the dark room doing photography in school when the first album came out. I never really listened to them since then but re visiting that stuff is great and I like the new song. Her voice works for me it sounds like she has the potential to sing the existing stuff well enough too. I look forward to more and hearing the back catalog.

Tragic what happened to Chester there is so much more to learn about mental health. We will never know enough I fear.

A lot of very toxic fan reactions and assumptions on her past being made. I feel like Mike & co know what their doing and chose her for all the right reasons. I feel like the fans should trust the bands judgement and let the music do the talking.

FWIW, long term fan and absolutely love the new track and thought the live stream was great. It was so heart warming to see Mike smiling.

Cracking track. I've been a massive fan from their early days when I was about 10. Enjoyed the various side projects they've done too. Managed to take my dad to see them in 2014 which was awesome. Chesters suicide was awful, but I always hoped the band would reunite with a new singer at some point. Chester was known to be a sound guy by those who knew him, I like to think he'd approve.

Good luck to them, looking forward to see where it goes, fk the haters.
