As per the title, my Marantz cd player has shredded a few of the teeth on the tray gear so chugs in and out in a most unattractive fashion.

I like the player and dont really want to have to replace it - but where can I get the little gear wheel to replace my knackered one?

Thanks in advance!

Not directly helpful I'm afraid, but I had to replace the gear on the drawer of my Theta data basic transport.

I found one on ebay in Taiwan for $12, duly arrived 10 days later with no dramas.

Good luck in your search.

Could also take it into Richer Sounds. They do repairs, and should have access to any parts required.
