is it just me who is driven insane by boy/girl racers and their blasting music?? Im 23 and i find it SO annoying that boys and girls my age cant simply drive their car without letting the whole street know what their listening to!! I mean, how can they fully be paying attention to the road ahead/to each side/behind with it being that loud?!?!?

I live in a cul-de-sac and theres one boy in particular that drives in and picks my next door neighbour up and he insists on letting everyone listen to his Tu-Pac or whatever hes got on!! Half the time its at 10.30pm, and quite frankly i dont want to be laying in bed hearing music with foul launguge in it! I may sound old before my time, but i guess thats what mother-hood does to you hehe

There is nothing wrong with 2pac.

I do agree about the time though.

There's a time and a place for loud music like that, and it's generally outside the kebab shop on a friday night. It's antisocial, and should be frowned upon.

I don't like loud noises late at night either, which was why I always used to cut the ignition when pulling on to my drive, because the exhaust was so bloody loud. biggrin

i agree, i used to listen to 2pac when i was younger, but hearing motherfu**er,ni**er and whatever else at that hour on full blast is just taking the pi55 and is just plain and simple attention seeking as far as im concerned!! Gets even worse in the summer!!

what THEY'RE listening to!!!

As for the time and the ahole, ask your NDN to ask him to keep it down after 10, nicely. Might pay dividends.

I love to play my music loud and usually sing along...generally classic rock, though.

wouldnt bother asking them to ask him etc...its not that hes someone not to be messed with, hes just a wee ass piece and would do it louder and longer on purpose!coz its a cul-de-sac it obviously boumces off all the buildings which makes it louder.

and as for the side parting and jumpers knitted by mummy comment, im a girl so do actually have a side parting, and no i dont wear knitted jumpers by my mum, she cant knit wortha st hehe im just someone who was brought up to respect neighbours and know the boundries when it comes to young children and them being in bed. im all for people listening to their music, but when it starts to disturb other people thats when it pi55es me off.

For example, if im going a night out with the girls, i make sure my music is turned down at 8pm as i know thats when the kiddies next door go to bed!nothing wrong with respecting others!!how man other people my age do you know that takes those things into consideration??

Wow, this thread epitomises the average PH reader.

All it needs is a comment or two from someone getting perplexed by 'low riding' jeans and it would be perfect hehe

Young people and loud music?

I agree with the attention seeking comment. I've always had a sneaky suspicion that deep down they possibly don't even like the stuff they're listening to and subjecting everyone else to that much.

They probably feel that they need to be seen playing it to be cool. Idiots! (if my theory is true wink).

OP, can't you have a word with your neighbours? If you all complain individually to the police, they may feel obliged to do something about it....?

Nothing worse than being stuck in traffic listening to the radio/ MP3/ CD when you come up behind some muppet with speakers so big...

A) You can't hear your own ICE system whenever the bass kicks in.

b) You can hear thier car's bumper/ tailgate/ lights buzzing and vibrating.

c) There is a solitary shoe on the rear parcel shelf which is 'dancing' to the bass.

That's when having a very loud car with side exit exhaust cut-outs come in handy, young fools have no chance of hearing their 'music' if I'm revving next to em'

It is only because they can.

Going back to the 60s young people have loved loud music, just now they can put it in a car.

It is not a new thing.

Yep, and those who did love it loud in the 60s now have bad tinnitus and are half deaf weeping

I have pretty bad tinnitus these days, volume abuse, night clubs and playing guitar have taken their toll. It'll mean I'll eventually go deaf. At the moment if i'm in a busy pub or even if there are more than a few people talking in the office I struggle to hear the person next to me.

I'm 27 btw.

Careful now.

Rubbish, it's 'orrible stuff. You need an air fed mask and ideally an oven. Give me cellulose any day.
