Stereotypical french music required
Discussion
In my mind I can hear some stereotypical french music that would be perfect to play each time my french colleague phones my mobile - You know the kind of incidental music that you'd hear in the background of a TV program when they want to convey the feeling of walking around in Paris etc.
Any ideas?

It's obvious.

You want a bit of Gypsy Jazz, you do. Something from the Hot Club of France (Stefan Grapelli/Django Reinhardt). "Minor Swing", maybe?
Alternatively, you could go for something like Jacques Brel or Maurice Chevalier? or just Google up 'French Cafe Accordion Music' - typically French, but musically typically dire too.

THIS
...Because my local sounds like it every Fri/Sat night.
I generally do not go there unless I am already completely plastered. It's jolly good fun on a Sunday morning though (esp. after returning from a club), as all the locals get the vin rouge/whiskey in before wading off with their shotguns/high power rifles to tear up the local countryside.

Love it! You give them waaaay to much credit chap, most French people I know wouldn't know Django Reinhardt if he bit them on the arse. Smother him in potatoes or tell them they could legally aim a gun at him & they'd be well away...Alternatively, you could go for something like Jacques Brel or Maurice Chevalier? or just Google up 'French Cafe Accordion Music' - typically French, but musically typically dire too.
