Scott's ears are outstanding. With those ears, you'd have though he'd be able to detect a bunch of tuneless angst ridden teenaged tts destroying music from a long way away, and avoided getting involved.

No. Just someone who likes a bit of subtlety in music. The noise made by this lot is just a clatterfest

Ah, you are looking for subtlety...
Hardly rock n roll eh?
Yep, I can see why you think it's a clatterfest. But Google the charts for back then, see what was about, what was on offer to us then, what JP were up against (Led Zep, etc) and listen again. They reinvented the wheel, created their own niche and thus aided the birth of heavy metal. They were part of the progression.
All bands of a particular genre are inspired by what has gone before in that genre, but if they wish to survive, have to reinvent it anew.
OP, is your mate's band up for it? Or do they just aspire, or indeed, just want to jam for the hell of it, which is fine.

Anyway, I was also trying to show that a big hat can aleviate the problem of big ears!

eta Phew, I was worried! It's taken me 20 minutes to write the above, only to realise we are at cross purposes, so with that in mind, take my inference in regard to your good self with a pinch of salt.smile
