Has to be "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues."

Everything after that has been bland ste.

Sacrifice & Nikita . May have more to do with the memories they evoke than the songs though

I Want Love isn't bad. You get the impression it actually means something to him.

Funny this should come up now - I've just been listening to Elton's stuff...

I reckon the 70's were his best time - Tiny Dance and Your Song spring to mind as does the original Candle in the Wind since somewhat spoilt...

Reg hasn't made a decent album since 'Follow the yellow brick road' has he, and that had some dodgy moments. Madman Across the Water, Honky Chateau and The Tumblweed connection are genuine classics, Infact its all pretty good up until FTYBR. After which he became so utterly lost in showbiz that he couldn't find his way back even if he wanted. (which he would appear not to).

So basically he's released nothing but very mediocre middle of the road albums and been on musical autopilot for 37 years and counting...

This Train Don't Stop Here Anymore/I Want Love (fking brilliant if you ask me), both off Songs From The West Coast circa 2001. If you don't like them, "Believe" off Made In England circa 1995. I thought Are You Ready For Love was alright though whistle

He's also amazing live for anyone considering seeing him, plays all the hits back to back and never fails to disappoint. Seen him 3 times and would still buy tickets again.

Pretty much everything after the "Too Low For Zero" album is... meh. Passengers and Sad Songs are ok, but definitely on the downwards slope. Quite how he can record such tosh now yet write great pop like "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'" I don't know.

So I will say "Kiss The Bride".

Arguably, this being PH, this was his major contribution (again, most people don't realise it is Elton John): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xl_d3WUjjYo

Goodbye yellow brick road or Rocket Man. The rest I can take or leave. Oh and Daniel is ok as I have a brother called Daniel, but he is actually younger than me. But he is taller so Elton wasn't far off the money.

Did he really write that Scissor Sisters song?

By the mid 80s, Elton had done his best stuff.
