Forgotten music!!

This morning I heard 10cc I'm Mandy Fly me from 1997, 1st time probably since then. Love it so Spotiflyed it and listening now. Anyone else found a memory they had forgotten??

Then You Tube led me to Rory Gallagher recorded in Paris in 1971 that's so good!

I think most of ELO's back-catalogue qualifies also. They did some great stuff bit it's considered 'unkewl' to like them.

I don't care though.

Wizzard - 'See my baby jive' is another one.

For some reason it always reminds me of Christmas even though there is no mention of it in the song.

I always liked 10CC with their clever and intelligent lyrics.

My first favourite band.

Was too young to see them first time around but saw ELO2 at the Brentwood Centre about 12 years ago. No Jeff Lynne but still fabulous.

I went to see 10cc last night, I wondered if they would be any good without Eric Stewart. They were fantastic, one of the best live bands I've seen.

Isn't there only one member from the original lineup?

I recently bought a number of their albums on CD (The stuff you can get cheap on Amazon Marketplace ) as they were a favourite of mine in the mid 1970s.

I was a pleasant wallow in nostalgia, some of their lyrics are quite witty and they can play alright, but music did need the kick up the arse Punk gave it back then.

Shame in a way that so many good bands, like 10CC, kind of vanished under the tidal wave of Punk mediocrity though...

Yes, only Graham Gouldman left but 25% of the original 10cc is better than nothing Dont let it put you off going to see them in their current line up, they are really very good.

there is a reasonable case they 'invented' heavy metal.

At the very least, they were in the bedroom when it was conceived

My MP3 player is constantly being added to by listening to Ken Bruce and particularly Alex Lester on Radio2. Bizarre how tracks I don't particularly remember liking at the time now are much more appealing; either because they are a reminder of what I was doing at the time or that now I am less likely to dismiss a song because it's not by a band scratched on my school ruler!
