Just testing some arrangement software (Kristal Audio Engine) and thought I'd have a bit of fun... Remember Move Any Mountain by The Shamen? I tried a silly remix of it...

nuts

My next project will be slightly more serious. Although, I do have a burning desire to have a crack at an Altern8-style rave tune... sorry... choon.

BTW Don1, can you find examples of what you mean on youtube in terms of general style of song?

As in bass etc? Look at something like Si Pattersons 'Thump' or 'Smack'.

Meant in general, really. Are we talking trance or big beat?

Edit: I guess this is hard trance.

God, that takes me back smile

I remember being a poxy student in Coventry when Progeny was released. I knew the CD version was coming out a bit later, but (a) I didn't have a CD player and (b) I couldn't afford the CD version smile So I got the vinyl triple 12", managed to shoe-horn the samples into my Mac (an LC with a massive 4Mb of RAM and a 40Mb disk!) and got to work with the samples.

I've had to google this bit, but now I read it it's a proper flashback - "We're sick of remixing this fker - so here are the bits, do it yourself!"

Everything I did was rubbish smile

I am also fking outraged that you can now torrent the whole thing for about 3p, it cost me a weeks spends in the early nineties.

You must be the same age as me. I was at Warwick Uni from '90-'93. I recall buying the tape version (I, too, couldn't afford a CD deck) from the independent music shop on the south corner of the shopping centre near where Escom used to be!
