I can't get 'Starry Eyed' out of my head, especially the Jakwob dubstep remix.

Thanks OP! I've been looking out for a particular tune (I keep hearing snippets of it on the radio) for a while and since you mentioned her name it kind of rang a bell with me.
It turns out the tune I was looking for was 'Under the sheets'.
Nice one!

She was on Radio 1 in the Live Lounge today - I really don't get what the fuss is about. She's got a slightly odd voice (which I guess works for some people) but she did a cover today and sounded really, really weak vocally.
sounded good to me, although I didnt hear much of her coverFor once, the product seems to live up to the hype.
There's a great video interview with her on the Guardian's website (http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2010/jan/22/ellie-goulding). She seems to have really thought about what she is doing and where it fits in the grand scheme of things. I, for one, can't wait to hear what she does with the folky-side of her output. I'm hoping the album (out on Monday) will be a good mix of the Starsmith-produced stuff referenced above and something folk-orientated that is a genuinely new sound. Time will tell...
Compare and contrast with the equally-hyped Marina and the Diamonds album which came out yesterday and turned out to be 50% pure gems (yes, I went there) and 50% dross.

sounded good to me, although I didnt hear much of her coverWell, that turned out to be a *huge* disappointment.
A whole album and maybe only three tracks with any unique identity; two of which have already been singles.
There's no obvious signs of the folk underpinnings as everything's obliterated by the bells and whistles of meaningless production. Plus, she just doesn't know how to start or stop a song, let alone come up with a melodic hook.
This one's getting filed right next to Gemma Hayes as an interesting prospect that wound up derivative. I'll be back to Lisa Hannigan for my carefully constructed folk songs...
I suspected something was up when the download was discounted to £4 on the day of its release...

Interesting,as I find her cd quite refreshing. She has a good voice, and coupled with her accent ,makes a nice change from the usual 'new' ste.I have enjoyed listening to her.A whole album and maybe only three tracks with any unique identity; two of which have already been singles.
