Go on, what do you think? Cheeky I know but hey - this is what pub lounges are for, eh? If it helps, I'm the drummer (though technically a guitarist by trade), and the blood/alcohol ratio can be blamed for my cock-up at 1:19 mad

We're all 17 and 18, if that's of any use.

Not my type of music but sounds pretty tight as a band and pretty musical, keep seeing alot of bands with people about 17-18 and suck. I'm allowed to say that because I'm 18 too. Bonus point for using Mapex kit as we know they're the best.

Cheers fella smile

Indeed, Mapex FTW - that kit was Bull and Gate's old Mapex V series, I've got a set of Mapex Saturns myself. Beautiful things. cloud9

Well you're better than my band when I was 17 and just by getting a gig you're more organised. BUT - it's a bit wet with that rather thin guitar sound and you all look as if you're in a rehearsal room not playing a gig. Singer sounds OK but he needs to draw a bit more focus because the rest of you are not exactly animated. Get a keyboard player in to add some depth and sound textures because I am not sure the songs can carry such spartan arrangements. Get the guitarist and bass player moving a bit and with time the singer will gain more confidence and look like he's enjoying it a bit more. Good effort though.

AIMHO.

That's great, thanks! smile In terms of the recording/video, it's not great in terms of the guitar sound and balance between instruements (the bass is far too quiet, for example). In terms of the guitar sound, we were doing a backline share with another band, the guitarist of which had a smorgasbord of Boss pedals whereas our chap was going straight through the amp.

All taken on board and duly noted. beer

Quite ok to ask for opinions - I've done the same thing with my band too on here smile

It's an absolute nightmare to try and comment on sound balance through a video especially (past experience!), but nevertheless I think you guys don't have that "wall of sound" which needs to come - the cleanliness of the guitar, and the fact there's only one, is part of the reason I think. However, one guitar is not a bad thing at all - Sterephonics a great example, and look at the noise they make smile

How long have you been together? What I found in my current band (now 3yrs on) is that the first 6 months we were really struggling to get that wall of noise, to make it sound like a band playing rather than just 4 guys playing instruments at the same time. But all of a sudden it just "came" - when you become far more relaxed with one another. So it will be there, but just be aware.

Also, I agree with the comments that you lot aren't very animated smile Now in fairness, I'm about the happiest drummer known to man, I sing along, laugh, smile, and just bloomin' enjoy myself while playing which is the polar opposite, however it gets comments and people say they enjoy it; so while I'm not suggesting you become a joker, a little animation and perhaps look like you are enjoying doing what you're doing will go a LONG way, I think!

Having said all of that, you lot are obviously tight, and working hard at what you do; you don't get as far as a nicely done gig with a well rehearsed song without it. So it's all very very good, and very very promising!

Good luck with it all!

Oh and may I just say, this is simply an opinion from a very amateur drummer that's been in bands for 10yrs - not a pro, far from it, so do take what I say with the ignorance with which it is written smile
