I really like Ain't Nothin But Blues Bar - http://www.aintnothinbut.co.uk, near Oxford Circus. Really small, band just sets up in the corner of the bar. Have seen some great performances there

Also the Jazz Cafe in Camden can be good

Went to Ronnie Scotts in Covent Garden on Saturday, it's ok in there but on a Sat night there is no live band, unless explicitly planned. Chris Evans was there too.

If not, try Charlotte Street Blues:

Or for something a bit different, the Trubador:

Unlucky, although I'm sure Chris Evans won't be there every time you go.

ANBTB bar is a nightmare to get in to on a Saturday night - I suggest you try getting there early to avoid disappointment!

Anyone ever go to The Intrepid Fox in Soho - my fave london bar - it was permanently Halloween in there . . .
