Agreed - an excellent return to form after the disappointing 100th Window. Still not up to the level of the first three albums, though. The fact it leaked over a week ago in Flac is quite impressive!

Looking forward to this a lot. Got my ticket to see them on the steps of the Sydney Opera House next month, which should be a good evening. As long as it doesn't p!ss down.

I really like Paradise Circus feat. Hope Sandoval but as for the rest of the album... well maybe it takes a few listens.

I might download it later if I can't get out to buy the CD. Looking forward to it.

It's a shame record company cynicism comes into the equation... a number of formats were supposed to be covered by this release; regular CD, A 'deluxe' download with extra mixes etc, and a 3LP vinyl set with a CD and enhanced artwork pack. As a completist and record fan, I wanted the latter. Guess what's not now being issued until 1 March? furious

Listening to this on We7 at the minute, I'm really liking it. The Gui Boratto remix of Paradise Circus is very good IMO.

I've listened to it a couple of times on Spotify today. There are a handful of reasonable tracks but as yet I'm not really getting it. I suppose I'm comparing it to Protection which is probably a bit unfair

Is Protection that good a Massive Attack album?

My ranking:

1. Blue Lines
2. Messanine
3. No Protection
4. Protection

And a long, long way behind

5. 100th Window.

I've listened a few times, as said above a few decent tracks (I quite like Paradise Circus) but not a stunning album.

One Love is possibly the worst track they've done IMO, Blue Lines would be a shed load better without it.

Well, I purchased this yesterday as an LP on iTunes.... Listened to it dozing off in bed last night, and it seems OK... Have to give it a little more listening before I can really compare it to their other stuff. I do, however, love the album art, especially the airplane one!

Mine:

1. Mezzanine
2. Protection
3. Blue Lines

No comment on the other 2 as I don't know them well enough, save to say that only the above 3 are part of my collection...
