Hello,

I am attempting to learn to play the guitar. I have played no instruments in the past and am finding it enjoyable but difficult. There are hundreds of video lessons on youtube. I just wondered if anyone on here could point me in the direction of some good ones for absolute begginers.

Cheers,

Ed

Try Len Collins' Guitar workout. It's a little cheesy but amazing in the way that you learn how to play guitar proper and learn to read music rather than just tabbing everything.

7 lessons, 2 DVD's and really easy to pick up and put down.

Get lessons, it's far and away he best way to learn, teaching yourself you'll keep practicing bad habits. DVDs may be good at showing you something, but they can't show you what you're doing wrong. Even if it's just a few months to get started, lessons are invaluable.

I have used a combination of lessons and various DVD learning packages

None are perfect but if you really wnat to learn guitar try this package reviewed ehre - that said i dont think it is that cheap if you have to buy it yourself - http://www.beginners-guitar-lessons.com/learn-and-...

justin guitar above is good but the good thing about the L and M above is that it covers things in much more detail - more detail than i have had from any teachers.

I think this guys great, and seems a real nice chap as well. Keep with it. I`ve been playing since 1982 and just started again after a 15 year break and play way to much. Currently learning Needle and the damage done by Neil Young, never done much finger picking......
