Now I know where New Order got it from. Another Manchester band Gerry And The Holograms released this in 1979 - ok it's missing that drum machine, but still it bears a striking similarity.

I know - I can't stand New Order either , but it's still a little cheeky of them to nick the idea off someone else and take it as their ownand then make a mint.

A bit like Suzuki nicking MZ's 2-stroke plans in the early '60's and then going on to win successive competitions....scratchchin

New Order didn't make money from Blue Monday. The sleeve design cost so much to produce they lost money on every one sold.

It went on to be the biggest selling 12 inch of all time.
