I wish to rewire/respray my Shergold Meteor! She's pretty tatty. I've taken it to bits and labeled it all up, not totally sure about the wiring but will cross that when I come to it. Does anybody know how to get hold of somebody to simply spray a guitar body in a kind of red sunburst fade effect? Like this

If you don't know what the guitars look like, here is a Meteor:

Not personally but know a few people who highly recommend them. Done some nice finishes and a few really nice arty pieces so should do a good job of a sunburst.

WOW never suspected I'd come across another Shergold owner on Pistonheads of all places! I have another Shergold, a Masquarder exactly the same as yours in fact! I love the guitars, for me they have the sound of a powerful Gibson humbucker yet the clarity of a Fender single coil. Love the sound. How long have you had yours?

Used to have this Shergold Modulator 12-string.

Sold it in 2000 when I bought the Rickenbacker (now also sold and replaced by a Burns Double Six. Burns of course had connections with Shergold, hence the similar looks.)

I got mine new in 1976 here in Oz, a direct swap for an early 60's Tele, TBH the Shergold is a better guitar but I hate to think of what that Tele would be worth today.

Along the way I also had an L series P bass, a 1960's Fender VI and an SG Les Paul ( very very few were made ).

So many dollars down the toilet but then again I was a player not a collector and wanted an axe that could move easily between Buck Owens, Grand Funk Railroad and Santana, the Masq did the job nicely.

I stopped gigging in 1981 but still have the Shergold, the H||H amp and the badly modded Yammy bass.

That's another guitar I'd love - a burns double six. Are they any good? I happen to own a Burns Steer, which is lovely to play.

What sort of music do you play which you feel you need a 12 string for?
