Was a HUGE fan of Depeche Mode when i was a boy.

still like a good listen.

Think "stripped" was my all time favourite, but there are so so many good tunes.

Any other fans?

1 here.
i wasnt so keen on there early stuff, as they were a little too poppy for my taste at that time but i thought Violator was a masterpiece, sooo good.

Violator has to be one of the best albums ever made. Loved the Grittiness of Songs of Faith and devotion that followed it.

'Speak & Spell' is still a classic album - they were never quite the same once Vince Clarke left... wink

I was a huge fan, but only of the early poppy stuff. Violator signalling the beginning of the end for me.

Best concert I have ever been to was on their Music for the Masses tour with OMD opening way back in 1988!!. That tour went on to form the 101 album which is of course one of my favourites.

Greatest band going. Good call for Violator, but I reckon Ultra is my fave album. Went to see them at the MEN arena a few years back and it was mint, the tickets sold out in minutes. Going to see them at the O2 in feb, can't wait!

I particularly like the 'Vows are spoken to be broken' line in this context laugh

I saw them in Golddiggers In Chippenham in 1982 (ish)

I think it was the Speak & Spell tour, I still have the program around somewhere.

Even though I remember 'Enjoy The Silence' from my childhood, I've only really followed them since the Ultra album, so a late starter, and yes Stripped is my favourite DM song and has a really good video, except for Dave Gahan's dodgy outfit and dad-dancing!

Saw then in Kiev a couple of weeks ago - brilliant!

Hadn't managed to see them in the early days so was a great opportunity to see them; very very good - and the sell out crowd (part of what looks to be about a year long tour) loved it, clearly although they had never played Ukraine before, a lot of fans here!

What surprised me was that they seem to positively encourage picture taking, most concerts or shows I though were dead against this? The tour website has space for you to upload piccies from the concerts...

My mate told me they're going to be in Glasgow some time this year, not sure when though, and where else they'll be.
