Any guesses who will waltz to victory again this year? X Factor again?

Maybe not, there's a facebook group 600,000 strong at the moment (no I'm not a member of facebook) trying to get Rage Against the Machine - Killing in the name. To number 1.

It's already no.1 on iTunes, the more people know about it the more chance we have of stopping that little st getting to number 1.

It's a top tune too, so get buying it. It must be over 40p to count for the charts, so don't buy it from amazon. I think the cheapest is play.com but I just bought mine from iTunes.

Go on!

Am I the only one that really, truly couldn't give a flying Monkey fk about the Christmas number 1 any more?

Saying that, I am tempted to go and buy RATM to upset the charts though - does it feature in the normal/recognised top 40 charts?

Well, the 'normal' chart is now a gross distortion compared to when we were kids! But yes, downloads count.

RATM are also winning on Play.com thumbup

I do feel a little bit for Joe Mcwhatsit, but enough is enough...

Don't, he's got his several-figure contract, and his album and later singles will be bought by millions of morons.

Isn't Simon Cowell something to do with RATM's record label?

Either way, it would be an awsome number 1
Both Simon Cowell's label, and RATM's label are ultimately owned by Sony (I believe).

why are people already buying Killing in the name of..

Surely to count it had to be after yesterday? or has it literally suddenly exploded and people have started early this morning?

seems I was wrong, after a look on the web...

Chart is eligible from midnight on Saturday, so that's why it is already up there!

it appears number one on play.com, iTunes and HMV

amusing

I'll be buying my copy tonight, it's amazing how quickly that facebook group took off. If you buy a copy from 3 different sites will that count as 3 or just one as it's from the same IP address?

Er, isn't today after yesterday?

Figures for this week's chart start at sales from 12pm Saturday 12th, IIRC
